Rosie’s girls {family}

Rosie and I have been friends for 25 years (!). She has always talked about her animals like they are her siblings or children, and today I finally met Kip and Holly who definitely have very person-like personalities! In 2013 Kip slipped off an embankment into a muddy ditch in her paddock, and because of all the bracken around the hole it took 5 long desperate days of searching before she was finally found. Emergency services rescued her, toxic, hypothermic and very dehydrated, and she was given 10-20% chance of survival. Time in intensive care and then Agnes Banks Equine Clinic allowed her to recover and return home. Today she still has big scars from pressure injuries, and has arthritis from the trauma of the accident. She is nearly as old as Rosie and I (which, for a horse at least, is pretty old!) but you can see below that she LOVES Rosie, and being ridden and played with and fed, and her friend Holly, and ROSIE.
